FRIENDSHIP FRAMED BY TOWERING GIANTS
(Montagne des géants) Duration: 60’, Copyright holders: RTS Radio Télévision Suisse, Co-production RTS / Image et son SA, Director: Manuella Maury, Year 2024: Rights: Selected Territory
Denis Bertholet was one of the first mountain guides and filmmakers to offer his clients the high routes of the Himalayas. Among them was a friend, Benoit Maury, father of the director of this documentary. Between personal notebooks and archival footage, the film paints a dual biography, where family ties, friendships, and torments echo across the world’s highest peaks. An encounter between a nomad and a sedentary man who share powerful convictions, a strong character, and an unwavering passion for the high mountains.
